Mizuno Wave Run 2006

17 September 2006

Mizuno Wave Run was an event organized by Pasetters Athletic Club, Malaysia. All participants were to complete a 10km run within the qualifying time, which varies according to its category to enable to win a finisher medal.

The run starts off at 7.30am at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. The route seems like a cross country race for me, as we gotta run up and down the hill. So to save my energy, I just crawl up the slope and then ran down at the maximum speed. This is the first time I'm joining a 10km run, and it took me approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. I must said that Pacesetter Club was pretty generous, as they provided all qualifiers with a 'Finisher' medal and the certificate were to be mail within 2 months time, with the placing and finishing time being printed out.

At the same day, Terry Fox Run was being held at Lake Garden, which is within walking distance from Padang Merbok. Initially, I planned to continue with Terry Fox Run after I had completed the 10km. But unfortunately, I was being knock out and head home to rest.

amanda,
congratulate on finishing ur mizuno and the putrajaya run,
mizuno was one of the toughest 10km run, coz it had hills, other 10km should not be ur problem anymore coz most of them was on flat road, the pacemaker network run was for members and by invitations only, there will be subang jaya and selayang 10km run in nov. all the best in ur future run! ur dog very nice :)

pacemaker n pacesetter is diff, rite? but i never bump in2 d pacemaker forum b4...

u juz started on march, n now u can finish a 10k within an hour...tat's awesome...

did u actually train daily for tat? i tried to run 1/2hr per day, but still kenot achieve tat speed.

pacemaker member is free of charge, u see the pacemaker chat box, all crazy runner is out there!

hard training payoff, i dint run everyday, i ran 3 days a week, 2 days will ran about 1 hour, then sunday will do long run about 20km.

endurance had to built up slowly, be patient, not advise to run everyday coz ur leg need to recover, try 1 day run 1 day rest, run at ur comfort speed(eg:u still can talk while running) so u can hit 1/2hrs, and make sure u never dehydrate.

if have any question, free to ask, hope can encourage u to improve ur running.

u bring ur dog to run?

haha...initially i start off run aiming to win d 3K Dogathon along wit my dog during august..n wit luck, v manage to get 4th..

but actually is pretty hard to run along wit her...she is super fast like those sprinter...is hard to keep up wit her pace...

so now i juz train alone n sometime bring her along if i juz plan a short run like 10min...

fook said...

not bad, get 4th places, so u teach her many tricks?

try run with friends then u wont be so bored.

if u plan to run 21 and 42km, its not play play, u had to put commitment into ur training.

take care ya,
fook

heya,
Not sure if I still can run anymore...lol! Used to train for 1-2 hrs everyday last time..now...all my time is spent with the dogs.
Have to sacrifice my running for the dogs.
When I was in the under 18 category (after I finish), I noticed the amount of ppl that stream in to get their places are so much faster than my category. For under-18,abt every..10-20m 1 participant gets a number. Over-18 its like every 1 m!!

Which club do u train with? as in which location?
I was training in MPSJ last time

Oh ya,do u chat anywhere? mind sharing ur email which u chat with?
