The humans woke up at 9.00am and went out for breakfast along with Mr. Choy. We dogs were left behind except for Groovy, Venus and Kimi. There goes the advantage of being small. At the place where we sat, the lottery shop just situated right opposite us. Mr. Chan said this is what called ‘faith’, and he can’t forego a chance of luck. Therefore everyone of us, except Ms. Owner contributed a small sum of money to buy the lucky numbers.
The time was still early when we arrived back to the apartment. They decided to spend the time with some poker games. Mr. Chan being novel in the game, even asked us whether can flush comprised of 7 cards and whether cub was bigger than spade. But yet, he did manage to win us in a few occasions, wonder was he cheating on us.
When we received a call from Groovy’s owner saying that he will be departing in 15 minutes time. All of us decided to take a quick nap at the living hall while the time still permits. Snooze.
We reached the Silver Jubilee Hall where the PAAPP’s Trial will be held at approximately 1pm. After the registrations were done, we found a corner to settle down our possessions. The obedience trial commenced first. Groovy kick-start his debut obedience trial appearance by taking part in both Pre-Novice and Novice trial along with Bank. They did pretty well as expected by qualifying it with good score. Probably next trial, they will be aiming for placing instead.
The agility trial was kick-start with the Basic Jumper Maxi class. During my first attempt, I felt reluctant to enter the strange-looking chute tunnel, which causes me a refusal fault. But after a persuasion from Ms. Owner, I successfully completed it. For my second attempt, I manage to achieve a ‘clean run’ and with that I secured myself a ‘1st prize’, together with a ‘clean run’ medal and certificate. Sweet. We can go home already!
As for my off leash runs, I performed some ‘agility-freestyle’, but my freestyle technique gone over the edge the next day. Thus, I will just sum it up and talk about it in my next post. With the rules, 3 faults or refusals equals’ elimination and tight course, all maxi dogs were eliminated for both Elementary and Novice class. I wonder for a moment where they deduced the rules from. Anyway, this made me not so embarrassed about myself, as I’m afraid I would be the only one who got eliminated. Phew!
Mini class dogs show better results with Archer getting 2 clean runs certificate, winning both Elementary and Novice class. He gained advantage being in indoor courses, which are too tight for fast dog. The Malaysia Agility Champion title is within his grasp now. The course seemed too tight for Groovy de Speedster. All 20 obstacles being crammed into the small confinement. It was fortunate that he did not perform any auto-pilot stunt, so he manages to secure himself a 2nd placing. By one attempt, he nearly completes a clean run, but just before he crossed the finishing line, we cheered too loudly and he suddenly go-astern and took a wrong jump. Oooppsss...
Prize giving ceremony ended at approximately 9pm and we took some group picture together with our haul of the day. Venus yet again secured both her Pre-Novice and Novice 1st prize. This was her 3rd time claiming 1st placing. She even told me she might consider retirement. Wow!
Later, dinner cum supper time. We the 'naughty with big butt' were left in the car. While only Groovy and Kimi the 'small and obedient' were permitted to dine-in. Grrr.....

You are so talented. It seems very strange that every large doggie was eliminated from elementary & novice agility.
How many trophies do you have now??
