Pacco de Dogzilla

This is another weekend to be forgotten. Ms Owner was banned from hiking by the parent until 25 June. According to what I've heard, they didn't want to encounter any misfortunate accident in the jungle that might cause her unable to attend to examination. That's really thoughtful of them.

Last week, I'm slothy. This week I'm a Dogzilla. While, Ms Owner was trying to capture some video with her camera, I went over to launch an attack on Angel. This was not the first time we have a rough encounter. We are life time enermy. Okay, I'm just jealous because she's a Border Collie, and I'm not. Ms Owner felt so sorry about my 'insane' behaviour, but she don't think I will ever learn a lesson. She feels like strangle me to death, chop me into 18 pieces and then distribute my meat to every dog. She warn me not to force her buy a muzzle or a prong collar, or even worse, electric collar. Thinking of it makes me shiver.

Anyway, although this didn't turn out according to her plan of capturing the flyball video for all the 4 dogs, including me, we have a complete video of Groovy. As you can see, I appear as the cameo. Talking about cameo, we heard that Robert Downey Jr. will appear as cameo in "The Incredible Hulk". Although we don't fancy watching gigantic green CGI monster, we might give it a go.

We also attempt 36 weave poles challenge, which can really make me dizzy. I can't even reliably weave 12 poles, 36 will be too much, and the sight 60 can make me faint on the spot.

The next agility trial will be 3 days after Ms Owner last paper. We don't think with 2 days interval, we can fix anything. If I didn't wander off the ring, I will most likely miss all contact, skip the weaves and fly-off from the teeter. So rather than washing done the entry fees into the drain, we might as well donate it to the charity, at least it was for a good cause.

Linear Weave Entry

This week I'm working on my 'linear weave entry'. We tried to increase our speed as much as possible, while still being able to hit the correct entry. After several repetation, I learn how to launch my brake and find the correct entry independently. But is difficult to make mistake with only 4 obstacles on limited spaces, and Ms Owner complaint that I weave like a middle age woman. Duh!

Hind Legs Trick

Happy April Fool, everyone. Time to rest from agility practise and do something fresh to keep our mind stimulated. Since, I never learn how to 'beg', while sitting up on hind legs, I decided to 'stand on 2' instead.

~ I'm tall like a stork ~

Ms Owner had gone into a movie-maker frenzy. So, here's the video of how I execute the trick out in an amateur way. I even attempt going backwards while standing on two, like what we watch from a Mary Ray's video.

1st production from 'Movie Maker'

Inspired by Mr Chan's DVD production, we are amazed by his talented IT skills. It was such a shamed that Ms Owner often need to seek advise regarding computer knowledge from him. While, Ms Owner suddenly found out that her laptop had this 'Movie Maker' program, she keep herself busy for the entire day, making a video out of me. I think her mind was to preoccupied until she nearly forgot that she have three assignments due on Monday.

Being a newbie in video editing, there are still alot to learn and Ms Owner doesn't know how to fully utilize all the functions available. By the way, this is not a 'tribute'. I'm still alive and jumping.

Backyard High Jump Practice

Eventhough High Jump competition is running short. But we will still practice it once in a blue moon. Yesterday, my owner manage to make use of homemade obstacle and set a maximum height possible for me. The record of 38 inches !!

Do you have any idea whether will I succeed or not? Anyway, just let me to some stretching first. Warm up is a crucial way to avoid injuries.

Ok. Here I comes.
3 ......., 2 ......., 1 ........., Action!

Oh gosh. Luckily the hurdles didn't collapsed. I think I need more practice.

TMO - Agility Mutt

~ Lazy mutt staring at the tunnel ~

Last week, we went to Pet-n-You new training ground situated at YMCA field. Finally, this time, the timing and location suit us well. We won't miss any weekend opportunity right until the big day comes. This was the first time I start training outside from home, since January. I wonder did I get rusty. Hard to tell, cause I spent most of my time there playing a fool and hiding under the shade lazily. Oh, it really piss my owner off. I heard she mentioned that I will be grounded and won't had any food on the next Saturday. Okay, I'm just being me, as expected. Training ground isn't something in my dictionary. But if next week there is sausage available, then I might consider to be a little more 'hardworking'.

Then later, Groovy lend me two of his hurdle. As you can see, the PVC hurdles are painted with blue and yellow strips. It was the official colour for Renault 2006, but this season the colour had been change. Wonder will he consider switching it to orange and white strips. It make me feel to paint my poles with red and white strips too. Two different V8 engine dog with their own lovely DIY obstacles.

As soon as we reach home, training starts again. Tired is never an excuse, cause beside bullying others, I did nothing much at the training ground. Huh!? But I wonder why my owner is still full of energy after a 10km run and 1 hour playing with herself at the field.

Getting rusty...

I had been long since I did some practise. My owner was so busy with her own stuff. From chatting in the net, studying, doing assignment to practising for her public run. Oh, she hardly had time to entertain me, besides bringing me to have a weekly jungle trekking. Even my latest plan of going to the Redang Island was being pulled off. I'm totally devastated.

Yesterday, we brush up a little on my jumping skill. Coz according to Groovy, there will be a Agility Trial around the corner. But due to lack of practise, I don't think we can achieved anything great. Probably another 2nd runner up for Basic Jumper.

My Trademark 'd Natural Horizontal Leaper'

Everydog is unique, including me. As I had emphasize this many times, I guess some might still in doubt about my 'Natural Horizontal Leaper' style. I had this natural ability since I started learning how to jump. Whenever my neurons was being excited by the nervous system, my muscle will develop an instantaneous contraction and enable me to leap about 2 feet totally off the ground.

D' Roadrunner

The life of a runner, who is still struggling to achieve the speed of light. Being built for speed with a flexible body and a large stride. Sprinting is a very difficult combination of aggression, relaxation, technique, and efficiency. And contrasting bodybuilding, gaining too much size can become a negative, and my current weight is 14kg. Generally speaking world-class sprinters are not from large breed pedigree. In fact, what's interesting is that some sprinters do not lift weights at all! But for those of us who aren't as genetically gifted, the ultimate goal is having incredible strength to weight ratios, lean body mass, and a well developed central nervous system for a fast reaction and the ability to explode on command. There are a various place whereby I could actually do some training to improve my current record.

Pet-n-You @ Sri Sedaya School Field - an spacious open fenced up field to train solely for speedwork. Ideal place to use your V8 engine and train for 'd Ultimate Recall.

Home Garden - a small garden with swings, trees and flower pots around- good place to train for 'obstacle challenge' and upto 360 degree turning. Pre-training checklist : Make sure your brake pad is functional.

Taman Jaya - a public park with lotsa 'non-dog-lover', therefore required leashwork - train to adapt with owners 'sub-standard jogging' pace. A good place to train for future 'Dogathon event' and my owner personal marathon event.

Gasing Hill - Jungle trekking with canine lovers every Saturday is the most luxurious weekends. A challenging trial that require x-treme good eye-sight, or you'll ended up banging on the tree trunk and tripling over the roots. Splashing around the water and enjoying some hunting games in the woods are optional.

It is an endless sport, one that requires tremendous devotion, patience and discipline. Time and time again, I approach the starting lines, feel the familiar contour of the track beneath my feet, and glance at the competitors around. There is no one to help me, no one to provide those last words of encouragement. I am truly on my own as I take my marks. Hear the starter's gun and hurl my body down the track, as fast as possible, in a blind rage towards the seemingly distant finish line.
~ Couldn't wait for the start ~

~ Oh yeah, I'm d black mutt on d right ~

That is the high point of a sprinter's life and very few canine can be successful in it. The talent to run fast is one component, but the focus and drive, the welled-up fire inside each sprinter that explodes along with the starter's gun, propelling the runner down the track, must come from somewhere. Behind every good sprinter is an upbringing that creates and then shapes this type of mentality.
~ I'm gonna catch you ~

Life is yet again natural. So why bother training for stuff that's not your cup of tea, when you can achieve something that is just a piece of cake. So 'Say No to OB!'. Running Rulz!

Improved Version : Preliminary Stylish Dog Dressage

This is an improved version. I'd tied Pacco's paw with a pink color band so that her movement will be more visible.

Preliminary Stylish Dog Dressage

Yesterday I notice Pacco finally can do the 'horse dressage' from sitting position. So this morning, I couldn't wait to show it to you guys. But being both the handler and camerawoman standing few feet away by giving verbal command only without hand signal, Pacco right hand seems a bit retarded. She seems to favour her left hand more, probably she's a left hander just like me.
