Pacco de Hunting Dog

~ Courtesy from Groovy, this is a neat group photo during the Petster Launch last weekend ~

Yesterday, I look pretty sluggish on the field. Ms Owner claimed that she feels like 'vomiting blood' and 'strangle my neck' when she look at me. That must be the 'sign'. A sign that Ferrari had a disasterous weekend. Kimi's performance yesterday make us feeling heart attack. From 15, move up to 3 and then dropped to 11, increase to 7 and finally 'DNF'. The race ended with only 7 cars, the direct outcome of retracting the traction control. Or maybe the driver simply forgotten the skills of racing after hibernating for months. Ms Owner sms-ed, Ms Sister saying 'I'm fainted'. While Ms Sister replied 'I'm dead'. So with one fainted and another dead, a sluggish Pacco will be insignificant.

Later the evening, I came across a grounded pigeon. As usual, with my great preying instinct I will zoom at full speed and catch it. Wow! I'm feeling great! Finally, after years of preying, I manage to catch a pigeon. I'm so proud of my achievement.

Ms Owner yelled like a frantic woman. She went to pick up the poor pigeon and bring her home. Huh?! I think she's going to cook it for my dinner. Finally, I'm Pacco de Hunter, hunting for my own meal. Yummy.

Then we found out that the pigeon had suffered a broken wing. Obviously she had injured her wing that the reason she can't fly. Yeap, this all make sense. Only a handicapped animal will let Pacco de Lousy Hunter catch.

We call up the local vet, and so dissapointing to hear that they are not Avian Vet, they simply don't treat birds, especially wild birds. I wonder what can we do. Will she heal on her own? Heaven knows.

Poor little bird! We have a special vet for wild animals in Slovenia, they also keep the animals until they can release them back into the wild. I hope it will be fine!

So...Pacco, now YOU are the Avian vet! We hope the pigeon gets better, but if it doesn't, you can always have it for dinner!

Oh shoot! It should have been your dinner...But poor birdie. You'll be surprised that the bird's wing is not actually broken. Give it a few days to heal but sometimes birds will die out of depression when confined. They need to be with their flock. So, just hope that it will survive throughout the night.

hi Pacco, we had a parrot who broke his wing and he had to have sugery to fix it. the doctor put a pin in his wing to make the bone heal straight and then after it was healed, the pin had to be removed. the wing healed crooked, and although the bird could fly, he could not fly well - mostly he just flew in circles. but that was okay, cuz he lived in our house and didn't have to fly for a living.

can you find an avian vet for the pigeon? or maybe a wildlife rehabilitation group? we have groups here that will take in injured wild animals (even birds) and heal them and then release them back to the wild. we don't think the poor bird can survive for long with a broken wing.

we sure hope you can help the poor bird.

woofs.

Sometimes my family takes in birds to rehab, but I think you are probably too far away to send it to us. Good nutrition is important for healing bones. No fluttering wings, though. Good dog, Pacco, for bringing it home!

Pacco, you are a great hunter. Hopefully your bird will get better and fly away. I hope Ms. Owner does not vomit blood or strangle you.

What kind of a vet doesn't treat birds? Anyway - great job catching it, but don't think it will let you play with it again!

Oh wow, you actually caught a bird! I've almost caught ducks a number of times, but once a grabbed them I didn't know what to do, so I let them go.

My human says she really hopes the bird gets better soon! But I think it would make a good meal... Don't you? (Don't let my human know I just said that!)

Dinner or a patient in your house? You went from hunter Pacco to doctor Pacco. I think I could catch a bird with a broken wing. I'm not too fast.

Hey Pacco,
You're not a bad hunter really. You did catch the pigeon even though it couldn't fly away and it looks like you were trying to help it so you're really Pacco de helper.
How is the bird now? Any better? Hope you can find a vet that will help.

We hope the pigeon recovers.
