Ti-Ratana Family Day feat. Pet-n-You Dog Demo

~ Gigantic A-frame awaiting me to conquer ~

Last Sunday, we were at Ti-Ratana's Family Day 2008 in Methodist Primary School, Brickfields, featuring Pet-n-You Dog Demo. As soon as I reach the ground, there was the ear pricking, glass shatering "Lion Dance". My fluffy tail hid herself under my slim belly, being so shy.

~ Finally, we had got it right. Ms Owner in black and so do I. Way to show our team spirit! ~

Pet-n-You team was there to perform a routine of dog sport demonstration, which comprised of Heelwork to Music, tricks, simply agility that include weave poles and obedience. Cami kickstart the show with her neat tricks and then was my turn. Take a deep breath and off we go!

Yeap, I really did 'go' with a zoomie. I ran a lap of honour before returning to Ms Owner. After introducing myself to the crowd, showing them I'm a black mutt with nice body and shinning coat, I'm back into serious business.

~ I warm up with some jumps ~

~Groovy dance on the floor, while I can dance in the AIR. Whoopee! ~

~ HANDSTAND trick ?!?! Nope, is just our Olympic-style startline posture ~

~ I got a little over the top and start to pose for pupparazi, nearly forgotten what I'm doing ~

Then was Groovy's Heelwork to Music slot.

Coming up next was time for agility. We bought along our powerful tools, chicken and stinky rope, and can't wait to find out how will I fare in this situation, kids running around, camera flashing and open field for being zoomie.

~ Groovy with the horn of demon ~

~ Kimi Chai playing peek-a-boo with his boss ~

We didn't opt for a lead-out because there was such a high tendency for my to zoom off, so Ms Owner de Snail started along with me, and right after the first jump, I had successfully ditched her. Hurray! Sniff my fart!

~ Numbers? Who care about numbers, there ain't no judge here ~

There I go, skipped a few jumps here and there. So did her, she really did cheated. She ran straight to the tunnel to get ahead of me. Once I get out from the tunnel, she was ahead and then we did the weaves.

~ Hey Ms Owner, I thought YOU are suppose to follow the numbers! ~

Upon finishing with the obedience routine. We end our show with a 'group stay' for the pupparazi. It was really challenging for me, as we were not only doing a 'down stay', but we did it on a 45 degree slope!

~ I'm slipping here, HELP! ~

Is time to chill out after the work. There were many stalls available selling a variety of foods, raging from chinese noodles, western dish to japanese sushi. Many thanks to Ms Suzie for offering us free brunch too.

~ Cami : I'm ready to dine-in. Slurp. ~

~ Cami : Oh boy, you really did ruined my appetite ~

~ Groovy : Pity you. But my appetite is as good as ever. Slurp! ~
~ Cami : Help! Someone please evacuate him away from me. ~

~ Shadow boy to the rescue ~

~ Kimi Chai : I think I heard someone calling for help ~

~ Bank : Oh yes, so did I ~

Enough from the Cami Groove affair, is time for the black team to head home. Thanks to the muddy field, Ms Owner white sneaker is turning black to match with my black paws. Sayonara.

What a wonderful event! I bet the kiddies enjoyed your performance, even with all of the little mistakes, which in the end prove that training dogs isn't that easy. No matter if you missed a couple of jumps (perfectly understandable in such circumstances), you should be really proud of yourself.

You did great. I think Ms Owner needs some more training to follow you and the numbers. Maybe you can train her with kisses.

Dear Pacco,

You are sooooo funny!

Don't you know you should slow down and wait for Ms. Owner to keep up with you. Agility is not about being fast, it is about being kind to your human and helping her out, don't you know.

What an impressive downstay on Mount Everest, wow!!
