I'm Fine

We came across this picture of me from Cami's blog, attempting the 60 weave poles challenge during the annual Dog Olympic Day. No wonder I'm slow, because I'm busy posing for the cameraman. Say cheese.

After a month of rehab, no significant improvement whatsoever. Unhappiness lay sour and inert inside her like indigestion. Her patience with me is wearing off, and starts acting like a vindictive school teacher. She's convinced that I have a loose screw somewhere in my brain or limbs, that I can't control when to move, when to stay, when to stop and which direction to head. I'm addicted to self-amusement and like a bear with a sore head. She swear that the next dog she's gonna adopt, besides being black and slim, nothing is gonna resemble Pacco de Heartache, or else, she will need to bid farewell to dog agility. After she kick-start her career, she might attempt horse agility.

She's in her quest of becoming the most determine dog owner or maybe the owner with the worst dog in ring. A dog being diagnosed with 'Attention Deficit Disorder', 'claustrophobia', 'stranger-phobia', 'hydrophobia', 'ring-phobia', possess 100% offleash unreliability with strong tendency of zoomie and the list goes on... Are there any other dog who after 3 years of vigorous training, is still reaching nowhere. We do not only train on Sunday, we trained EVERYDAY. Maybe she should get hold of Leslie McDevitt's Control Unleash as prescribed by Team Small Dog. Anyhow, the record for a dog to successfully qualified for Open was 13 years old. I still have 10 years ahead of me. No rush.

On the other hand, I'm convinced that's nothing wrong with my mental health. No dogs can be deemed more healthier than I do. No food for a day, drinking from dirty drain, soaking under rain, eating cat's poo, no bath for a month, and yet I'm still jumping and running.

Here I dedicates Mary J. Blige's song title 'Just Fine' to let my owner know that I'm FINE. That's absolutely nothing wrong with my brain and she can rest in peace.

"Having a really good time, I'm not complaining
And I'm still wear a smile if it's raining
I gotta enjoy myself regardless
I appreciate my life, I'm so glad is mine
See I wouldn't change my life, my life's just fine

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooh!
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooh!
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooh!
See I wouldn't change my life, my life's just fine

I ain't gon' let nothing get in my way, no
No matter what nobody has to say

Feels so good
When you're doing all the things that you wanna do
Get the best out of life, treat yourself to something new
It's a really good thing to say that I wouldn't change my life
My life's just fine"

FYI, while we are browsing through the internet, we came across this hilarious video during the recent USDAA trial, labelled by Taj Mutthall as Border Collie to the rescue. Take a peek.

She'll sooooo appreciate you after I test her patience!

Pacco, we know there is nothing wrong with your brain! You are still just young. When you get a little older, the attention deficit disorder will go away! We promise! Ok, it might take a few more years, but trust us, it WILL go away.

Poppy, Penny & Patches

Grammie can't even get me to sit. Tell Ms. Owner that she has it made with you.
That video was great. That crazy dog is looking for a cow. What with all that running. Nap time.

No need to give up, some pups just take longer. Mum understands; Gracie is wacky and had been running off at trials. They took a year off and did only tricks and practice agility. She's doing so much better. And we used the Control Unleashed and Silvia Trkman methods to help.

Keep it up, ADD and excess energy can be a good thing!

I don't think you have anything wrong in you,Pacco! In fact, you're so much better than me! I don't think I can do agility like you...my Mom doesn't want to start me until I get my attention good on her, which is pretty non-existent these days...LOL! Keep up your training! I think you're doing fabulous!

Oh Pacco, no matter what, you are still the agility king to me! I'm just learning to do weave poles, while you are running through 60 of them!

Maybe your mum's a perfectionist. Tell her "Pacco just wants to have fun" (adapted from Cyndi Laupers' Girls just want to have fun)

There is nothing wrong with you Pacco. You know, each of us have our own limitations. If we can only go that far, that be it that way. I know I can't go any further in OB. Let it be that way! Ofcourse my Mommy still tries her best to train me to pawfection but still, no difference. Yes, I will learn new things like scent detection, distance control, dumbbell retrieve but still, I'm not pawfect at it. I do it when she tells me to but I usually come back slow when retrieving the dumbbell & when I do the distance control, I tend to ove my front paws forward which is a fault. But all my Mommy cares is that, I DO IT! I managed to learn all the obstacle course & do them all well but I'm not fast. I go in my own speed. I'm not pawfect at that too...Maybe your owner don't have to stress too much about it. Maybe you need a few weeks break from all of this. Too much training does cause more confusion, mistakes & boredom. Yes, it does! Not necessarily training makes it pawfect. Sometimes it causes it to be the other way around! So take a break & then go back to training again a few weeks later. You'll be surprised, you'll be a much improvement than when you've been training everyday. Faith is better now with her recalls after she has taken a one month break from OB training. And btw, yes Faith is already close to three years old & has been in Novice since she was one plus & STILL! She is getting nowhere. Patience is the keyword Pacco...

You are better than fine my dear! Maybe you just need a few years under your "belt"...love the pic by the way!

I think you do a great job. There is no way I could run through those poles without biting each one as I ran by and ripping them out of the ground. Patience is key. I love you no matter what.

If everyone was perfect in this world..there would not be any variety at all...it would be boring fer sure....everyone can only do what they can at any given time...while Tiger Woods wins at golf a lot, he doesn't always win....'n that's good...it gives others a chance....maybe ya just need a bit of play time ta get yer frame of mind back onta the task at hand.....most of all ya have ta enjoy it.....

60 weaves? No way! Don't fret, Pacco. It's all about the process, not the product. :-) Leslie McDevitt is good though. Must get round to writing up the post I have drafted on what we've been doing ... xGus n Jake
