Pet-N-You 1st Anniversary Bash

Although it was raining during the early evening, the weather turned out to be breeze cooling around 4.30pm onwards. The informal event was being held in conjunction of the Pet-N-You 1st anniversary celebration and was proudly sponsor by Nutri-Edge. This is the first time, we participated in their event, which put canines' sports at top priority.

We started off with some formal obedience work by Champ and Henna. Later comes the canine musical freestyle, tricks, flyball and agility demo by the demo squad, which comprised of Groovy, Russell, Jojo and the gang. The most exciting demonstration would be the newly promote 20 pole weaves, whereby the dogs gotta weaves in and out of the 20 poles, which had the capability of making them to feel the 'drunk'.

While waiting for the games to get started, Pacco had another routine run at the field and came across a new dash mate, Sunshine, a Labrador. It was simply impressive to see a heavyweight Labrador running.

While, we were happily enjoying ourselves, Hana, the Japanese beagle, hide herself in the bushes. Her owners spent nearly half an hour to call her out.

The first game being started was the 'Longest Jumper'. It start off with two broad jump and was eventually being increased to app 6.5 ft (if not mistaken). This time the game as different from was being introduced by the Puppy.com, which was analogous to meant for human beings. Dogs are required to jump over the broad obstacles and if not succeed will ended up 'CRASH'. This can be great sight awareness for our dogs, as they will perform better to avoid the accident. After a few preliminary round, Pacco emerge as the winner. Just hope that she can defend her title during the next event.

Other new games being introduce was the Best Retriever, Best Sniffer and Best Kisser. I knew that Pacco can get rather overstimulated when I throw something for her to retrive, so I bring along a box of delicious Cesar, hoping to attract her back more efficiently. But unfortunately, when I throw the ring, her mind was to preoccupied with the food on my hand. Embarassly I gotta retrive the ring on my own and then we try another attempt. She did ran for it and retriever it back, but it just simply not impressive enough compare to her counterpart. I finally learn my lesson for the day, never lure her with food when you want to send her away. While Russell was the runner-up for this game.

The idea of the game was not clear to me. Pacco manage to sniff out her food hiden under one of the cone, but she don't know how to get it out. However, due to the generous 'organizer', Pacco was still awarded 2nd runner-up.
